Outdoor Community Amenities
If there is only one fundamental truth that we have been reminded of through the global pandemic, it is this:
Whether it is on a trail, at the playground, on lunch break at City Hall, spending time outdoors can increase memory, boost mood, lower blood pressure, promote digestion, and more. Time spent outside has even been linked to a reduction in inflammation. In hundreds of studies, participating in outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, biking, or other aerobic activities has been shown to improve cardiovascular health. Aerobic exercise has been so linked to cardiovascular health that it is commonly referred to simply as “cardio.”
Enjoying time outside also promotes other health benefits such as increased vitamin D, increased mental focus, decreased stress, and improved emotional wellness. Being outside has countless benefits, and those benefits can help people to be more resilient in the face of a strain on their mental health and physical health.
The impact of collective community wellness has never been so powerfully illustrated in our lifetimes. If you take care of the physical and mental health of your community and its residents, your community will grow and flourish. Outdoor amenities can provide residents with a welcoming space that encourages them to take charge of their health and connect with the environment that surrounds us all.
Community Accessibility
DG2 Design can help your community create spaces accessible to residents. From parks and trails to playgrounds and more, every design flows from one element to the next, integrating accessibility throughout.
DG2 is uniquely qualified to design accessible spaces. Learn more here.
DG2 Design partners with the community to connect people and nature.
Everyone loves a paved trail for walking, biking, rollerblading, and more. But most people do not want that community trail running through their backyard. That is why our top priority is to hear from the community about the proposed project.
To encourage community involvement and to spread the word, we work creatively with the committee leading the charge for an updated or new outdoor community space. We invite members of the community to join us for a virtual meeting and to attend city planning meetings. A project is not “ours,” at DG2 Design. We are stewards, interpreting the community’s vision and integrating solutions for specific needs. The project belongs to the community, and we are always proud to bring their vision to life.

A 90% Success Rate
At DG2 Design, we celebrate our 90% success rate. We define success as a completed/built project. While completion of a project may sound like something that should be expected, very few firms achieve a success rate of 90%. There are a few reasons a project will not reach completion, so we have a process in place to mitigate those often occurring issues other firms face.
After an RFQ, our process begins with listening. We listen to understand the vision of the project and the limitations involved. A project design must account for sustainability as well as innovation. A design must be feasible for the budget allotted both initially and for years to come.
