DG2 Design teamed with Fentress Architects on the six-story expansion and renovation project consolidated the Family Court – including juvenile detention – with the Circuit Court into more modern, state-of-the-art facilities at the St. Louis County Court Complex. The new building is a modern, highly functional, and sustainable unified Courts Complex. The facility includes 43 courtrooms, general office space, customer service areas, 63,000-square-foot juvenile detention, 64 detention sleeping cells, educational space, conference/meeting rooms, public spaces, storage, and operational support areas.
The new Courts Complex unifies the site into a cohesive whole and provide an accessible and welcoming experience for St. Louis citizens. DG2 Design designed the streetscape and plaza for the renovation of the St. Louis County Courthouse in Clayton, MO. The $122 million project included major renovations and additions to the existing building, including a sub-grade parking garage. The designers at DG2 worked with KCI Construction Company and Fentress Architects to develop a design for the surrounding streetscapes. A native plant palette was used to provide a planting design that includes street trees, screening, and custom concrete planters. The project achieved a LEED Silver Certification.
