DG2 Design developed a comprehensive Master Plan and Phase One construction documents for the revitalization of Fogerty Park in University City, Missouri. Established in 1928 and located on 82nd Boulevard in northern University City, Fogerty Park has long served its surrounding neighborhood. With changing community needs and aging amenities, the time had come to reimagine this 11-acre urban park — situated adjacent to an elementary school — for future generations.

A Community-Driven Vision

DG2 Design’s design team worked closely with City staff, local residents, and stakeholders to shape the park’s future. A combination of public online surveys, engagement workshops, and community presentations gathered the input needed to build a final concept with genuine community buy-in. Residents expressed a clear desire for environmental enhancements, recreational upgrades, and infrastructure improvements that would make the park more functional and enjoyable year-round.

A Sustainable, Engaging Design

The Master Plan reflects the community’s vision for an environmentally responsible and dynamic park space. Key proposed features include community garden plots, native plantings, educational signage, permeable pavement, and an outdoor classroom — elements that promote low-impact education, support ecological health, and create an interactive environment that serves park users of all ages.
